Gedeon Moses is an avid musician from Malaysia. He pursued his tertiary education at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang where he received his Bachelor of Music (Performance & Pedagogy) with honours degree in the year 2019. His huge passion in music since a very young age has motivated him to pick up various instruments beginning from the Electric Guitar which he learned himself. Following this, he branched out onto Electric Bass Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Piano, Keyboard, and Percussions. As he grew, from self-taught music knowledge, it developed through the help of resources found online from websites such as YouTube. Later on, he joined his church music band group as well.

 

          It was during his time at the university where Gedeon received a formal music education covering practical and theory studies under the tutelage of the esteemed Dr Pravina Manoharan, Composer Azmeer, Dr Johan Othman, Dr Yumi Yoshioka, Dr Jason Tye, Dr Razak and the Jazz Pianist Mr Michael Veerapan. Addendum to such wide exposure, Gedeon showed interest in even traditional instruments such as Gamelan and was able to learn it. He took up conducting studies with one famed Conductor & Jazz Pianist, Prof Razif @Jeep, for his educational project; he demonstrated his skill in conducting one out of the next couple of orchestras throughout the assignment.

 

          Apart from that, Gedeon actively performed in numerous concerts and recitals. He was involved in a musical theatre production of the critically acclaimed commedia “Le Nozze di Figaro” as a Tenor & Bass voice for its Choir, a collaborative work with Akademi Seni Budaya Dan Warisan Kebangsaan (ASWARA) and Senzoku Gakuen College of Music Japan with the direction of Ranko Kurano & Shingo Ozawa and conducted by Takahisa Ota. Together with his band, they embarked in a series of performances in Penang Music Festival, USM Music Recitals, Piano Gala Night, Piano Duet Festival, The Prelude Concert, Tone-Matrix Concert, International Jazz Day, Educational Carnival (North Zone) and Cultural Nights. Last but not least, they attained the highest privilege to perform for the revered HRH Raja of Perlis who attends every year during the annual USM Convocation.

 

          Gedeon has a track record of participation in a myriad of masterclasses and music workshops during his time at USM. He attended sessions with renowned figures in the music world such as Mitra Alice Tham, Massimo Folliero (Italy), Dr Andrew Filmer, Samuel J. Dass (known with his moniker Sultan of Sitar), Michael Veerapan, Frederik Köster & Jazz Band (Germany), The Winds of Siam (Thailand) and Sirius Quartet (USA). 

 

          Gedeon's area of expertise includes composition & arrangements, stage performance, conducting and orchestration. He also has an exposure on Music Technology that entails sound editing & design, digital audio software application and background scoring. His passion and love towards music manifest in the form of music he produces. Every piece that Gedeon produce is high quality and genuine.
